Ultrasonic jewelry cleaners appear to confirm that by just causing cavitation. However, in the last few days I have been informed by a most reliable source, that it can happen. I am trying to get further specific details, but the information to hand at present is: The technique is to take two tubes of 384L stainless steel and glue an ultrasonic transducer between them. The resonation takes place at 2.24 MHz at 3.5 volts with a current draw of 3 mA (input power 10.5 milliwatts !!). The tubes are ground down to resonate at that frequency and when they do, they produce enough hydroxy gas to run a vehicle engine. The hydroxy production rate was described as "violent". It seems almost certain to me that no metal tube of any practical size is going to resonate at 2.24 MHz. Resonance of a tube is presumably affected by diameter, length, thickness, material and manufacturing defects. Presumably, therefore, the tubes are resonating at a lower harmonic of the 2.24 MHz. I visualised this device as having a figure of eight shape when viewed from the top, with the transducer being glued between two identical tubes. However, my source thinks that there were two transducers, and he visualised the tubes being one inside the other. I'm sure that several of you good people out there will want to test this out for yourselves and experiment. However, please be aware that the oil companies are so afraid of this system that they will go to any lengths to stop it being publicised. So if you do get this system working, I suggest that you are very careful what you say about your success. Good luck, Patrick "Patrick Kelly" » ----------------- Hi, have you tried the Keely frequency? II think it's 42.8 kHz. There was an interesting article on keelynet about an experiment. They sonically stimulated water in a cilinder, apparently when the freq (wich was set for upward sweeping), was around 42.8 kHz the water disappeared instantly, when the guy looked up there was a hole the size of the cilinder in the ceiling! Keely did some amazing stuff with water and freq. If I find the link I'll post it. regards Mario --- tony tiger wrote: > Hi all, > > Just got some new lab equipment!
